In 2003 Due to the amount of 3 story properties in Tarleton and the surrounding areas Tarleton's fire appliance was upgraded to a Pump Ladder, which means the 10.5meter ladder was replaced with a 13.5meter ladder. The appliance at Tarleton is now upgraded to a Pump Ladder Rescue (PLR)
2004 was a busy year with a lot changesĀ for Tarleton Fire Station in June we received an 55 series Leyland Fire appliance Y253 XEO the former Fulwood appliance having only covered 25000 miles. This is the most up to date appliances and the newest appliance Tarleton has ever crewed.
Tarleton has also received new state of the art Holmatro cutting, spreading and ramming equipment. Tarleton now has a fully modern appliance fully equipped with state of the art equipment including on board computer (VMDS) GPS Firefighting equipment and much more.
In June 2004 the Station Commander Sub Officer Graham Iddon Retired at the age of 57 having completed 37 years of service. On the 12th of June Leading Firefighter Tom Cookson was promoted to Sub Officer (Station Commander).
